Registered Social Worker
Sara McConnell is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. She recently graduated from Laurentian University in 2018. She is currently completing a Minor in Sociology at Laurentian University.
In her role at HeadWay Clinic, Sara provides individual, couples, and family counselling. She also assists in facilitating workshops and group therapy.
Sara has experience working with youth and in treating anxiety, depression, and grief. She also provides social rehabilitation by meeting with clients in the community setting. Sara has experience employing Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, and chronic pain management. Through appropriate research-based counselling modalities, Sara uses client-centered approaches which are tailored to every individual based on their unique needs. While she is accepting all clients, Sara has a strong passion for working with youth and people facing addictions. Sara is interested in working with anyone requiring the therapeutic and emotional support necessary to cope with difficult life transitions, trauma, grief, anxiety and everyday stressors. In her sessions, Sara takes on a guiding role to empower clients to be the leaders in their road towards wellness.
In her spare time, Sara enjoys running, playing guitar, and volunteering in the local community.
Sara is currently accepting clients to provide counselling in a safe and relaxed environment.
